Anna Pigeon Episode 6 Recap: What Does Jeremiah’s Dominant Presence Mean For Anna?

Solving mysteries feels good unless you get stuck in one of those situations. In Episode 6 of “Anna Pigeon,” Park Ranger Anna is stuck in a similar situation after making it out of that hellhole alive. Although she hurries back to the underground cave, she fails to find the perpetrator, whom she knocked out before climbing up. When Anna steps into the cave alongside Frederik and Zoey, the three of them fail to notice anything strange inside the cave. Anna does not find Kay’s dead body and the hour marks she left on the boulders. While Anna frantically looks for clues, Zoey and Frederick stand there dumbfounded. They want to believe Anna but there is no such evidence that can possibly point to her statements.

Why Does Anna Push Jesse Away?

Ever since the horrific incident, Anna has been a total mess. Although she is the one who has gone through so much pain, a part of Anna still thinks that she may be imagining things because the underground cave has no proof of any struggle or Kay’s dead body. Whenever Anna feels that she is going to be okay, she finds out that all of her clothes and underwear are missing from her room, as if someone is packing her stuff behind her back. All these continue to mess with Anna’s broken mind and drive her almost insane. She also notices two cuts on her back, exactly the way someone marks cattle. While Jesse comes to her house to be there for her because she needs comfort during this time, Anna pushes him away since she needs some space. This is one of the worst times in Anna’s life and she wants to figure out what’s going on before involving Jesse in her life.

What Is Going On With Anna?

Anna already suffers from her husband, Zach’s murder, which is still an unresolved case. Every night, when Anna goes to sleep, she gets flashbacks of that time when she woke up beside Zach’s dead body, lying in a pool of blood. Following the incident in the cave and what follows after that, Anna starts having second thoughts about everything she sees around her. Anna can no longer appear normally at her duty because she is still suffering from the traumatic events of her life. That’s why she loses her temper at every little thing. The loudness in her reactions speaks volumes about her frustration regarding the unsolved case of Kay’s murder. However, after Kay’s body is discovered, Anna feels extremely sad after she gets to know that the killer (Jayden) had physically violated her before taking her life.

Why Does Frederik Think That Jayden Is The Perpetrator?

Anna is still unclear about the person who pushed her down into the underground cave (it is Bethany, but let’s talk about it later), so her best guess is investigating the party who was on the riverside. She finds Caleb (the guy whose speaker was broken by her after he blasted music on her face) wearing a watch with Jayden Paulson’s name engraved on the back. Although Caleb only talks about helping in moving Kay’s dead body, Frederik sends the watch for investigation. It turns out that the watch has stains of Kay’s blood and grains of sand in its straps. Since Caleb claims that it’s a gift, Frederik realizes that Jayden must have something to do with it. However, Frederik fails to do anything to Jayden to force out a confession because he is accompanied by a seasoned lawyer and Jeremiah himself. Slowly, Frederik realizes that even though Jayden is Kay’s killer and the one who fought with Anna in the cave (he is) but there’s no solid evidence. Whatever Frederik and Anna have, they are all circumstantial and not enough to issue an arrest warrant against Jayden.

Who Pushed Anna That Night?

Days ago, it was Bethany who pushed Anna into the underground cave as some sort of an effort to save Jayden. She is actually Jeremiah’s daughter, who ran away and married Manny, thus becoming an unworthy one in the family. When Jayden physically assaulted and killed Kay, he came running to Bethany to ask for help. He was more frightened because Anna saw him hiding the body and he knew that it would be over if his mask fell off. Besides helping Jayden, Bethany nearly killed Anna just to satisfy Jeremiah’s ego. Although it was Jayden who got kicked in the face by Anna, it was Bethany who initially pushed Anna into that hellhole. Bethany also cut Anna’s back and helped Jayden escape from the cave while Pigeon ran away. She knew that Anna had been spoiling Jeremiah’s plans and he needed to find a way past the Park Ranger. To gain Jeremiah’s approval and prove her worth, Bethany betrayed her dear friend, even if it was Anna who helped Manny when he was wrongly arrested.

How Does Anna Survive Bethany’s Murderous Attempt?

When Anna turns on a live recorder and goes to Jeremiah’s house to face Jayden, she has only one intention – to make the alleged perpetrator drive her to the location, play the weakling and manipulate him into speaking the truth. But, when Anna goes there and notices Bethany while having the tea, she realizes that something is wrong. Before Anna can do anything, she feels drowsy and Bethany takes her to the riverside to kill her. However, she survives Bethany’s attacks because of two reasons. Since Anna is Bethany’s friend, the latter’s hand trembles to take her life. Using this as the perfect window, Anna throws Bethany off using an electric buzzer. Anna now knows the value of carrying her defensive tools with her – spending lonesome nights without food inside a cave taught her a lot.

What Does Jeremiah’s Dominant Presence Mean For Anna?

Although Bethany is arrested and Jayden may soon end up in custody, the battle against the Paulsons is far from being over. Jeremiah is not dumb; he deleted all the footage of Anna entering the house so he can stay clean in case Frederik brings  the FBI into this. Caleb will have a hard time proving everything, and even though Jayden ends up being convicted for his crimes, things will not be simple. Anna will still have to fight against a powerful figure like Jeremiah who loves to win, no matter what the situation is. It is true that Anna now knows the value of a team and her mentee, Zoey, is not going to abandon her side, but Pigeon still needs to figure out a way to deal with Jeremiah. He is one of the most influential figures in society and the longer he stays near Glacier National Park, the worse the effects will be. While Anna has people like Manny, Jesse, Molly, Frederik and Zoey, she still needs to deal with Geoff, who should learn how to turn Jeremiah down.
