Super Troopers 3 Ending Explained And Movie Recap

It’s been a while since the original “Super Troopers” was made back in 2001, and the world has changed a lot since then. What was hilarious and goofy back then can very well be taken as offensive or hurtful now, but I think Jay Chandrasekhar and his group Broken Lizards understand that pretty well. If you’re a fan of the original, you already know how it became a cult favourite, with its meaningless pranks, smart puns, and the kind of humour that’s best enjoyed at a house party with a few beers and some pot involved. I’m going out on a limb to say that I thoroughly enjoyed “Super Troopers 3,” despite what other critics say, and seeing Chase Crawford and Jon Rudnitsky against the troopers was a delight. Despite not having the magic of the original, the third installment of the film is not a borefest, and it’s refreshing to see a comedy group still making their own film instead of a big studio hijacking it and sucking the soul out of it. I specifically enjoyed how Brian Cox still hanging around the precinct turns out to be more than just retirement syndrome, the guys struggling to find the right term for Florence Nightingale syndrome, and the moment an EV saves a trooper from certain death. Isn’t this exactly what our ancestors imagined 2026 would look like? Nat Faxon is another great addition to the cast, playing the new captain, a guy who genuinely loves Indian culture but somehow makes every attempt at embracing it come across as culturally inappropriate. We could’ve done without a few dick jokes, but hey, we know these guys, they made “Beerfest.”

Spoilers Ahead

What happens in the film?

“Super Troopers 3” opens with a Sangeet performance of an Indian wedding, and the groom is none other than Farva, who’s marrying Thorny’s sister, Sarita. Rabbit and Foster are donning some fine sherwanis, but they can’t quite believe what they’re witnessing, as Sarita and Farva are dancing to the Salman Khan song, “Seeti Mar.” We now take a trip to two months back, to find out what led to this atrocity. Thorny and Rabbit are waiting on Sarita, a professor of Genetics who’s visiting the country due to academic purposes. But as Sarita and Thorny are talking on the phone, a car drives her off the road, and she finds herself stuck while her car is flipped upside down. Sarita tells Thorny that she can smell a gas leak, but before the car explodes, Farva swoops in and saves her. She immediately falls in love with the trooper, her saviour, and Thorny is gutted that he has to see his sister kissing Farva. The very next day, Thorny tells his mates that his sister is suffering from Putzfimmel’s Syndrome, which is wildly wrong, as that means someone having an obsessive need of cleaning things around them. The new rookie of the squad, Coy, is a charming young guy who gets everyone’s coffee orders right, and the old captain, O’Hagan is still hanging around the precinct even after his retirement. O’Hagan claims that he only intends to use the toaster, but he simply sits down when it’s time for the briefing, led by the new captain, Markowski. The town is dealing with two problems, a street drug from Canada named Canadian Crystal is being sold like candies, and some vandals are targeting the Moose Clock maple syrup trucks. The troopers aren’t thrilled about the maple syrup, since the company just sells corn syrup in the name of maple syrup. Captain Markowski also introduces the department’s new electric patrol cars, the Le Sportif Electrique, despite the fact that they’re manufactured in Canada. Ursula arrives to return Foster his stuff, since he ran away and broke up with her when she talked about buying a house together. Mac and Foster then run into the Buchanan brothers, Steve and Baker Buchanan. They used to be weed dealers before it was legalised in the State, and now they’ve become event planners, and their farm is also hosting Farva and Sarita’s wedding. Mac starts trash talking with Baker, so he dares Mac to catch him with his slow EV. A chase takes place, and the troopers who charge others for speeding, are now playing Tokyo Drift themselves. However, Mac can’t quite trust the car to jump across the Duck Neck Creek, something he claims he did when he was young. Both Mac and Foster come to the realisation that they might not be cool anymore even in their own stories. Meanwhile, Thorny’s parents, Mukundan and Mehta, call to ask him to stop being a jackass and support his sister by being Farva’s best man. Thorny decides that he’s going to play dirty and show his parents the kind of douche Farva is, hoping that’d convince them to call the wedding off.

What does Thorny do to sabotage Farva?

Thorny asks his family to come to a fancy tearoom, and he’s pretty certain that Farva cannot behave in such an establishment. But Farva shocks Thorny and his moustache, by showing up in a sleek three piece suit, which even surprises Sarita. He then goes on to gift a DVD of the 1982 film “Gandhi” to Thorny’s parents, which they love, since Mukundan believes he resembles Ben Kingsley. Thorny’s shock knows no bounds, as Farva orders cucumber sandwiches; along with scones, lemon curd, and marmalade. Farva ordering Darjeeling tea truly sets Thorny off, as he can’t believe what his eyes are witnessing. When Farva manages to recite a tongue twister ten times, as Mehta suggested, the entire tea room claps for him, and that’s the signal for Thorny to abort and come up with a different plan, as his parents actually like Farva’s brand of humour. Meanwhile, Mac and the boys discover yet another vandalised Moose Clock truck, and Mac wonders if the Buchanan brothers are behind this, since they also vandalised a Weed Company’s store when they opened. So the troopers pay a visit to the Buchanan family farm, where they meet Bettie, Baker and Steve’s cousin. Bettie is so pretty that Mac starts drooling over her, and he completely abandons his own hunch about the Buchanans. Meanwhile, Thorny surprises Farva with an age-old tradition of his family during the bridal fitting, where the groom picks a snake of their liking from a basket of multiple snakes. The groom then has to perform a wedding cobra dance with a snake of his choosing, while Thorny assures him that the snakes aren’t venomous and only have residual venom. When Sarita tells Thorny that this tradition is unnecessary and he himself didn’t do it for his wedding, Thorny gets the perfect opportunity to say that’s why his marriage failed. However, one of the snakes jumps at Farva and bites his neck, and Mehta takes it upon herself to suck the venom out of him. Seeing his mother-in-law doing this to him gets Farva excited down there, as well as the other men in the room, as the troopers hide their respective erections with their hats.

What happens at Farva’s bachelor party?

Desperate for a win, Thorny takes his plan of sabotaging  Farva several notches higher by inviting Mukundan. Markowski had decided to not drink in the party so that he could be the designated driver who drops everyone home, but he unknowingly eats four of the mushroom filled chocolates Rabbit brought. He had no idea what he was eating, and by the time Markowski realises what’s happening to him, it’s too late. Meanwhile, Farva force feeds a piece of beef steak to Mukundan, a devout Hindu vegetarian. But after Mukundan tastes the beef, he says “holy cow, it’s delicious.” Now the man can’t stop eating the steak, but he justifies it by claiming that his wife once had a McDonald’s quarter pounder, and she gave him the permission to try beef once in his life. Farva then gives a bunch of EpiPens to everyone in the room, as he wants to try a lobster, something he’s deathly allergic to. His face soon turns red, and he starts to choke, but Thorny keeps pushing his luck and prevents his mates from helping the poor groom-to-be. Farva becomes completely unstable, and Markowski sees him as the Hulk, which is not that big of an exaggeration if we go by Farva’s behaviour. Everybody starts throwing the EpiPens at Farva, but he only calms down when Mukundan jumps on his back and injects one of the EpiPens himself. But Thorny wasn’t done yet, as he brings out the big guns, two beautiful courtesans from his swingers club to seduce Farva. Mukundan freaks out, thinking the women are too tempting and he’ll have to call the wedding off if Farva sleeps with them. However, when Thorny hears moaning upstairs, he barges into the room only to find out that it’s Mukundan who’s having intercourse with the women. Farva has survived yet another trap, and due to a mishap, Mukundan breaks one of his legs. Sarita and Mehta show up along with the paramedics, and Mukundan, being an honest man, confesses to his wife about what he did. Mehta announces that she too, will have revenge sex with someone, and seeing Thorny who’s the mastermind behind all this, Sarita bans him from her wedding. Everybody heads home, and a drunken Mac decides to jump the Duck Neck Creek, only for the EV to stop him by enabling the auto safety protocols. Mac curses the car, and scolds it for following him around after he’s stepped out. As he goes to take a leak, he accidentally discovers a meth lab, with the Buchanan brothers cosplaying as Walter White and Jesse Pinkman. Mac’s hunch was right, and it is the Buchanan brothers who’ve been making and smuggling the so-called Canadian Crystal. But Coy shows up behind Mac, and knocks him out, as he’s been helping the Buchanan brothers evade the troopers all along.

Who saves Mac?

Mac wakes up to find himself bound to a chair, as the Buchanan brothers reveal that they’ve been stealing the fake maple syrup and cooking this new kind of meth with much higher potency. But the Buchanan brothers are really bummed out when Mac comes up with a better street name for the drug than the one they came up with. Betty and the Buchanan brothers also reveal that Coy had been working for them since he was a teenager, so it’s hardly surprising that when he became a cop, he immediately became a dirty one. They end up putting Mac in a cryogenic chamber, which freezes him after they fill it with maple syrup. On the other side of the town, Thorny finds himself all alone in the precinct since everybody’s attending Sarita’s wedding, so he figures the best thing to do is investigate who drove Sarita off the road. Farva was working the case, and all he’s done during the last two months is fill the case file with pictures of muscular women, along with a solitary picture of a cat. O’Hagan comes by the precinct yet again and asks Thorny to check the footage from Farva’s body cam, a piece of basic police work that’s somehow far too advanced for Thorny’s skill set. But when he checks the footage, it turns out it was Farva driving behind Sarita, and he was mad about her driving the car too slow. Things got messier when he accidentally dropped his hot dog in his drink, and his car crashed into Sarita’s. Simultaneously, before frozen Mac dies, the super smart EV detected his vitals and figured that his body temperature was dropping. So the EV started itself on its own, and crashed into the lab and the chamber, saving Mac just in time. Frozen Mac, who’s now shaped like a giant block of concrete, is on top of the car, as it drives itself to the wedding. The Buchanan brothers see the car taking Mac away, so they start chasing, but they’re stumped when the EV overrides the safety protocols to jump the Duck Neck Creek on its own, with Mac on top of it. Thorny also crashes the wedding since he found out about what Farva did, but Farva confesses on his own before Thorny could say it out loud. As Sarita is processing this information, the EV comes crashing into the wedding tent, and the troopers discover frozen Mac.

Does Sarita marry Farva?

Thorny pours some hot tea around Mac, so that he can talk, but the first thing he says is how he finally jumped the Duck Neck Creek. Mac does also say that the Buchanans froze him and how they’re running the drug business. The Buchanan brothers try to claim that Mac has gone into a shock and now he’s just blabbering, but Mac reveals how the brothers have hidden a lot of meth inside the elephant. Thorny and co assume that the drugs are inside the actual elephant, the one Farva rode to the wedding. Without even thinking twice, Thorny decides to get to the bottom of it by putting his bare hands inside the elephant’s bottom, but he finds no drugs. Thorny’s parents and the rest of the guests start shaming him for ruining the wedding, but he trusts his gut and decides to look inside the Ganesh statue, betting his left nut that there must be drugs hidden inside it. Thankfully, he does find the drugs inside the Ganesh, and the man finally gets a win. Frozen Mac is happy too, and he tells his friends that Coy is dirty, which is great news for Foster, since he’s been feeling that Coy was flirting with Ursula a bit too much. Foster takes Coy down, but Betty puts a gun on his head, and the Buchanan brothers start firing as well. The troopers fight back, and Markowski takes a bullet to save Mehta. Farva and Rabbit team up, and they slide Frozen Mac across the room to slam him against the Buchanan brothers, knocking them out cold. Betty is still holding poor Foster hostage, but Ursula crushes a  samosa and uses the hot peppery filling to sneak up behind Betty and rub it on her eyes, and the bad guys are finally defeated for good. Rabbit decides that Coy needs to be dealt with as well, so he just casually throws a knife at him, which stabs the new, dirty rookie right on the stomach. Thorny decides that no new rookie can be the Rookie of the year, and that only Rabbit deserves the award. Mehta decides that she’ll have her revenge sex with Markowski, since he saved her life—like mother, like daughter.

Sarita plays an elaborate prank on Farva, saying that since Rabbit saved her life from Coy, she shall now marry him. She even kisses him just to torment Farva for lying, but eventually goes back to him once she’s had her gotcha moment. Ursula and Foster also decide to get back together, so Thorny officiates two weddings simultaneously. But there’s still a twist left in this one, Mac wants to marry the car he hated so much, since it saved his life, and he even starts humping the car after Thorny has declared them as man and wife, I guess? But after Farva tells Thorny that he’s going to be an uncle, he sticks an EpiPen inside his brother-in-law, leading to another mad fight.

In a mid-credit scene, the film takes us to a secluded farmhouse where O’Hagan is relaxing in a Jacuzzi with his girlfriend, Governor Jessman from the original film. So O’Hagan wasn’t really lying about having a girlfriend all along, and the only reason he’s been hanging around the precinct so much is kind of wild. Many years ago, O’Hagan hid four million dollars in the basement of his precinct, and he now needs the place to be empty in order for him to take that money out. As the screen turns black, a title card appears which announces the next installment, “Super Troopers 4: The Search for O’Hagan’s Gold.”
