Liz’s father is also a crucial roadblock in their love story and she wants to find a way around it. But Charlie does not give up and turns Liz into a vampire by biting on her neck. Is Liz Tired Of Living With Charlie?Liz has been married to Charlie for over a century and now she knows the worst part of living for eternity. Apart from looking at the same face that has not aged a bit for all these years, Liz finds it extremely difficult and mentally draining to put up with Charlie’s bad habits. Almost every night, Charlie does not allow Liz to stay like she wants to – he is not ready to accept his own mistakes and this is frustrating for her. Whenever Liz tries to be on her own, Charlie responds in an immature manner, as if he is not intelligent enough to understand boundaries. Liz cannot stand this childish behavior when she knows that Charlie is at least centuries old. Since Charlie is not going to change his ways, Liz has grown tired of living under the same roof with him. Unfortunately, she does not intend to seek divorce because seeking the help of the law will expose their real identities.
What’s The Deal With Max?Max is a sincere employee who works at the Social Security Administration Office and he closely monitors everything that goes through his desk. When Max discovers that someone in a household (it is actually Charlie’s brother, Jesse) has been taking social security for more than a hundred years. Unless someone holds a Guinness Record for being the oldest human being on the planet, time does not allow anyone to remain alive for that long. But simultaneously, Max is confused because this can also be a system error and if he mistakenly charges an innocent elderly man, things are not going to end well for him. Although Max’s colleague, Benji, thinks that it’s probably the blueberries that the person eats, he is unable to understand the seriousness of the matter. Since Max cannot make him realize the gravity, he stays silent. Apart from that, something else is also bothering Max over the last couple of days.
Why Is Emma Hesitant To Let Max Come To Her House?Max likes Emma, a girl who works at the veterinary clinic, and he wants to propose to her as well. Even though Max is head over heels for her and Emma is also invested in making their relationship work, things are not so easy on the inside. Max is suspicious of Emma because she does not let him come to her house and meet her parents. Every time Max suggests visiting her parents, Emma turns it down. Naturally, Max thinks that Emma probably does not like him and this is her way of rejecting his proposal. However, Benji claims that Emma must have relationships with other boys, which is allegedly preventing her from making her bond permanent with Max. To make matters worse, Benji also theorizes that Emma is probably married to more than one husband and since they all live with her, she doesn’t want Max to visit her house. However, Emma is actually Charlie and Liz’s daughter – she does not want Max to see that she and her family are vampires. Also, inviting Max over to her coven guarantees death for the poor boy since Charlie cannot withstand humans.
Why Does Liz Want To Hire Max As A Therapist?Liz and Charlie’s conflicts have reached the maximum level. Even though Charlie does not believe in therapy (he was born centuries ago and nobody in that era believed in this), Liz wants to undergo a couple of sessions alongside her husband. She does not want a separate life, away from her coven – Liz wants a normal married life. While Charlie may think otherwise, Liz actually misses his younger version, who was always ready to give up on everything else for her sake. When Max enters the coven unknowingly while inspecting Jesse’s 150-year-long Social Security scheme, his demeanor impresses Liz a lot. His psychological ideas and words of wisdom make him the perfect candidate who can conduct a couple therapy session with Liz and Charlie. However, Max is not ready to be a therapist. As he asks probing questions about Social Security, Jesse grows impatient.
What Scares Max?Max wants to meet Emma’s parents but the way things unfold in front of his eyes, it is terrifying for any human being. Just as Max digs a little deeper and claims that he wants to contact the higher authorities, Jesse tries to wipe his memories by waving his hand but that doesn’t work. To silence Max, Liz and Charlie are left with no other option than killing him for good, which will actually turn him into someone like them. Max gets scared after Liz and Charlie transform into vampires and almost approach to kill him. Luckily, it is Emma who interferes right on time and lets her parents know that she loves Max. Although this news calms Liz and Charlie down, it rattles Max’s core, leading him to stay away from Emma for days. He knows that Charlie considers other humans a weaker race than the vampires which is why he resents their presence so much.
What Pushes Charlie To Turn Max Into A Vampire? After Liz persuades Max to come back to Coventry since the latter deserves to be with Emma, the boy dares to set foot into the coven once again. This time, he stands up to Charlie’s bullying attitude and doesn’t back down, which impresses the latter to some extent. As a vampire, Charlie does not value human beings because he thinks that they are the weaker race – looking at Max’s courage, he allows him to be with Emma. However, when Jesse’s son sends Charlie’s bust flying while practicing telekinesis, it knocks Max out and kills him. Since Liz and Jesse want to bring Max back to life at all costs, Charlie cannot help but turn him into a vampire by biting into his neck. Max’s rebirth changes the history of the coven because till that day, it was usually men who turned women into vampires. It’s also going to benefit Max and Emma’s relationship; if he had remained human, he would’ve aged and died while she remained perfectly fine.
