Suria KLCC Group brings royal Deepavali celebrations to three malls

SHAH ALAM - The Suria KLCC Group is ushering in Deepavali with palace-inspired decorations, traditional performances, interactive workshops and festive shopping rewards across Suria KLCC, Alamanda Shopping Centre and Mesra Mall from Oct 23 to Nov 11.

The celebrations, held ahead of Deepavali on Nov 8, aim to bring the Festival of Lights to shoppers through cultural experiences and festive activities, while offering international visitors a glimpse of Malaysia’s multicultural celebrations during Visit Malaysia 2026.

Suria KLCC will feature an Indian Palace Courtyard at its Centre Court from Oct 23 to Nov 11, transforming the space with traditional royal Indian architectural elements, golden latticework and colourful silk accents.

The installation will feature two 10-foot peacocks framing a grand entrance archway, alongside an LED screen and water features. A Grand Pavilion will serve as the centrepiece, offering visitors a setting for festive photographs and family gatherings.

Suria KLCC will also host traditional dance performances on Nov 1, 7 and 8, showcasing rhythmic footwork and expressive movements associated with Indian cultural performances.

Shoppers can also participate in creative workshops, including the Kolam Tart Decorating Workshop by Flaaah on Oct 31, Nov 1, 8 and 9.

Participants will decorate the brand’s limited-edition Masala Chai Custard Tart with colourful kolam-inspired designs and receive an exclusive 20 per cent discount on a full box of tarts at Flaaah’s outlet.

Meanwhile, Yves Rocher’s Pleines Natures: Paper Bouquet Workshop, taking place on Oct 31, Nov 1, 7 and 8, will allow participants to create paper bouquets and experience the brand’s latest fragrance from its Pleines Natures collection.

Suria KLCC Sdn Bhd executive director and chief executive officer Francis Tan said the celebrations were designed to recreate the welcoming atmosphere associated with Deepavali open houses.

“Deepavali in Malaysia has always been about the open house. The door is open, there is food on the table and everyone is welcome. That is the feeling we wanted to bring into our malls.

“A palace courtyard is where guests are received, so we have built one for our shoppers and visitors, somewhere to catch a festive dance performance, decorate a kolam tart or take that family photo, before sharing a meal at one of our many restaurants and cafes or heading home to celebrate.

“Whether you are with us at Suria KLCC, Alamanda or Mesra Mall, we want you to feel like an honoured guest,” he said.

For its festive shopping rewards, Suria KLCC shoppers who spend RM1,000 or more across two receipts will receive a RM50 shopping e-voucher, limited to the first 300 redemptions.

Those who purchase RM1,000 worth of Suria KLCC shopping e-vouchers will receive an additional RM100 e-voucher, limited to the first 20 shoppers.

Alamanda and Mesra Mall join the celebrations

At Alamanda Shopping Centre in Putrajaya, Deepavali festivities will run from Oct 23 to Nov 9, featuring a colourful kolam illuminated by traditional lamps and complemented by a festive arch.

The mall will also continue the Suria KLCC Group’s mental health awareness initiative through its Green Ribbon Pin Sale. Each RM10 pin sold will directly support mental health non-governmental organisations.

Alamanda shoppers can redeem a RM30 e-voucher and two scented candles by spending RM500 or more across up to two receipts. Those spending RM1,500 or more across up to two receipts will qualify for RM80 in e-vouchers and two scented candles under the high-spender rewards programme.

On the east coast, Mesra Mall in Kemasik, Terengganu, will celebrate Deepavali from Nov 1 to 10 with an Indian Palace Courtyard-inspired setting at its Concierge Counter.

The installation will incorporate palace-style decorations, traditional motifs, floral arrangements, vibrant colours and warm lighting to create a festive atmosphere.

Under its Shoppers’ Rewards Programme, the first 100 shoppers who spend RM350 or more across two receipts will be eligible to redeem a RM30 Mesra Mall shopping voucher.

The three malls’ celebrations combine cultural displays, hands-on activities and shopping incentives, offering visitors different ways to experience Deepavali while supporting community initiatives.

Shoppers can obtain further information and updates through the respective websites and Facebook pages of Suria KLCC, Alamanda Shopping Centre and Mesra Mall.
