Dolla makes European debut in Paris

KUALA LUMPUR - Malaysian girl group Dolla has achieved a new milestone in its musical career with its European debut at The A Music Festival in Paris, France, recently.

The performance at Paris Event Centre drew an audience of about 2,000, including fans from France, the United Kingdom, Germany and Italy, with the trio comprising Angel, Sabronzo and Tabby performing 12 songs. The setlist included Ugly, Impikan, Bad, the unreleased All Over You, and Bad Girls Like You, featuring Thai singer Tobii.

"The feeling was truly extraordinary, and this was a very meaningful opportunity for us. After six years of dedication and hard work, finally getting the chance to perform on a European stage for the first time felt like a major achievement. The atmosphere in the hall felt like a dream,”said Angel in a statement today.

Sabronzo said the warmth and support shown by an audience they were meeting for the first time made their Paris performance a special experience. Meeting fans at Trocadero also gave the group an opportunity to connect personally with supporters who had followed Dolla's journey online.

"What surprised me most was their warmth and overwhelming support. Their energy was so infectious that I really did not want the performance to end. It felt very special to receive such a warm welcome so far away from home,” she said.

Sabronzo also expressed how touched she was to discover that Dolla's music had found a place in the hearts of European fans, with some making the effort to attend the performance, learn the group's choreography and take part in dance video recordings with the trio.

"Knowing that our music has travelled this far and touched so many people, to the extent that they came to watch us perform, learned our choreography and even joined us in dance recordings and fan gatherings around Paris, is truly incredible,” she said.

Meanwhile, Tabby said the successful performance was the result of meticulous preparations by Dolla and its team, describing the audience's appreciation of their hard work as an unforgettable moment.

"I am very proud that our team and we managed to deliver such a great performance after putting in so much effort and energy into the preparations. I almost cried because I was so proud of us, seeing and hearing our hard work being appreciated by the audience in Paris,” she said.

Dolla was the only Malaysian group in the lineup of The A Music Festival, which also featured Thailand's JASP.ER, 4EVE and Tobii, South Korea's TRENDZ and Jacob, and the Philippines' Alamat.

The group also met representatives of the Malaysian Embassy in Paris to discuss potential collaborations and future opportunities. - BERNAMA
